STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN 2010

Through our long range planning called Seeking God’s Path and our Transformation Process of the past two years, we have been in prayer and discernment about where God is leading Cypress UMC.

We believe we are called to be: A leading church in Cypress that grows God’s kingdom, prepares our youth and children for Christ-centered living, and partners with each member on their spiritual journey.

Our Strategy will be three fold: Attracting in with worship, youth and children. Growing Spiritually by bible studies and small groups. Sending out by mission work and inviting back in.

As a church, if we are to move forward with the plans God has in store for us, we must be prepared to align our ministries and our financial resources toward our vision and strategy. This amount reflects an increase of $225,000

TITHING – A Spiritual Calling from the Lord:

In seeking God’s path for our lives, an integral part of the transformation process remains the realization that everything we have and everything we are comes from the Lord. He instructs us to put Him first in our lives by tithing the first ten percent of our earnings. “Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.” Deuteronomy 14:22

How does this transform my life? A habit of regular tithing will keep God at the top of our priority list and give us proper perspective on everything else that we have and all that we are attempting to accomplish.

What happens at Cypress UMC when members are spiritually led to tithe as directed by the Lord? “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Corinthians 9:3 Reaping generously will provide the financial resources for us to continue our current ministries in the areas of Passionate Worship, Radical Hospitality, Risk Taking Missions, Fervent Prayer, and Extravagant Generosity.
