Local Education Missions
"I will shout it from the mountain top, it is great to be adopted!" -Beth May, Principal of Adam Elementary
Cypress UMC was able to present a check to Adam Elementary for $8,000 (see above picture) to help provide them with a new track and field. To this day, we partner with Adam Elementary and our other adopted school, Millsap Elementary, to aid with any of their needs. Whether it be school supplies, lunches, or riding the bus to make sure the children get off at the right stop, Cypress UMC will be there.
Partnering with our neighborhood elementary schools to build relationships with teachers, staff and students in
order to represent Christ. Serving in many ways including volunteering with school activities, mentoring the students, and showing the staff that they do make a difference in the lives of our students.

What does it mean to adopt a school?
Adopting these schools gives us the responsibility to make sure they have the resources they need to do achieve the goal of a good education, a right of every human being.Adam and Millsap are both Title 1 schools, which means they have a high proportion of students who qualify for free or reduced breakfast/lunch. Just that fact alone, compelled us to go into these schools.
