Teach Them Well
Education is very important in our country, our culture and even our faith. Its often said that people perish from lack of knowledge, which comes from a story in the Bible. Althought the quote is not generally used in context with the original author's intent, the phrase does hold true - people perish for lack of knowledge.
You may be asking, "How does this apply spiritually?" or "What does this have to do with today's message?" The Bible tells us in the book of Deauteronomy to teach the next generation about the goodness of God. Like a preventative medicine, teaching the next generation can be a life saver. In today's message, "Teach them well" Pastor Jerome Brimmage shares great insight on how we as people teach the next generation both intentionally and unintentionally through our words and actions.
Scripture Reference:
Deuteronomy 11:18-21
18You shall put these words of mine in your heart and soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and fix them as an emblem on your forehead. 19Teach them to your children, talking about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 20Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, 21so that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your ancestors to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth.
